One of my favourite things is to listen to people, to hear what they are saying, and then help them to move forwards, towards a loving, healthy outcome, in accordance with their own highest vision for their life. There are many ways to help people do this – it is my sincere hope that this site offers one way.

Tips for Asking Tarot Questions

A lot of tarot readers and tarot reading sites stress the importance of phrasing questions in the ‘right way’, saying that the better the question, the better the answer. I have often wondered about this as, for me, the tarot has a universal nature which I think means that it can transcend such concerns.

That written, the phrase, “Trust in God, but tie up your donkey” came into my mind! Consequently, I hope the following tips will help you if you are wondering how to phrase your questions.

1.  Through tarot reading, I have come to believe that there are no rights and wrongs, goods and bads.  Things simply are, and it is for us to choose our preferred option.

Because of this, I have found that the phrase:  What would be the consequences of….?  is often a good start to a question.  This question makes no assumptions of right or wrong, and the questioner remains free to choose her/his preferred path.

2.  People can sometimes be quite vague or ask several questions at once, without realising.  For example,

I am thinking of setting up my own business and have heard from an old friend, Max who can support me in this but I’m not sure if this is a good idea.

It’s not really clear here what the client is asking. It could be that she would really like to ask two questions:

i.   What would be the consequences of me setting up my own business?

ii.  If I decide to set up my own business, what would be the consequences of me working with my old friend, Max?

The on-line tarot reader cannot know for sure exactly what the client is asking so, on this site, a general response to the information provided would be given here.

Another example:

Will my partner make it big this year?

This is quite vague – what is “big”? And, can we assume that the couple will stay together? And, even if her partner does well, will she even benefit?

It could be that the questioner doesn’t really want to ask about her partner at all – she really wants to ask about her own life!  A better way of asking could be:

What will the coming year hold for me financially?

Or,

Tell me about my work situation.

►   If you have a specific question, it often helps if you ask it.

►   If you would prefer a more general reading regarding an issue, then you can be more general in your questioning, eg. “Tell me about my love life”.

►   If you’re not sure how to ask your question, it is a good idea to provide a small amount of background information regarding the issue of concern.

3.  Examples of questions where there are ethical issues:

Questions which are directly about other people

– An ethical response will be provided, such as a general reading for the questioner, around the issue referred to.

Questions regarding birth and death, eg. Will I have a baby this year? Or, will I survive cancer?

- Please do not expect specific answers to such questions.

Questions including, “Should I…?” or “Will I...?”

– People have free will so these questions will be rephrased by the reader.

Questions asking for specific time frames, eg. When will I….?

- I believe that free will makes it very difficult to answer such questions accurately.

Hope this helps!

Please be assured that I will always do my best to answer the questions posed.
